A little inspiration.  GRADIENTS are your friends.

Multimedia 1 - APOLOGIES:  I hadn't meant to include "ONCE YOU HAVE FINISHED, TURN ALL 3 PAGES TO TURNITIN under 3 PAGE SCRIPT." in yesterday's post as it was meant for TODAY!

Today, I want your to PRINT your 3 PAGE SCRIPT.  Have the person seated to your IMMEDIATE RIGHT read your script.  Yes, I will be looking at the SEATING CHART to make sure you get the RIGHT person.  If they are absent, skip to the next person in line.  If you are at the end of the row take your paper to the person at the front of the row.  They MUST answer the  following questions about your 3 PAGE SCRIPT:
  1. Does the FORMAT look right?
  2. Is there a definite BEGINNING, MIDDLE, & END?
  3. What is the MAIN PROBLEM presented by the end of PAGE 1 (ACT ONE)?
  4. What is the How is the MAIN PROBLEM overcome by PAGE 3 (ACT 3)?
  5. Are there parts where the writer needs to SHOW what's going on rather than TELL?
Once EVERYONE has read 1 script and answered the questions, pass to the RIGHT AGAIN and have another person answer the questions.  Your READERS can write their ANSWERS and their NAME on the back of your script.  Turn the PRINTED SCRIPT with the 2 sets of answers in on my desk.  REVISE your script and turn it via TURNITIN.

PLAN ON SHOOTING PAGE 1 THIS WEEKEND!!!  IF YOU CAN SHOOT THE WHOLE THING, GO FOR IT.  START RECRUITING PEOPLE TO BE IN YOUR FILM.  PEOPLE IN THIS CLASS WILL HELP YOU WITH YOURS IF YOU HELP THEM WITH THEIRS.  KEEP IT SIMPLE.

Day 37 - Monday 11.5.2012

Graphics 1 - Today, we start on the COFFEE CUP ICON.  This project will show us how to use Photoshop's built in VECTOR tools even though it is not a VECTOR program like ILLUSTRATOR.  Photoshop is a RASTER program that manipulates PIXELS.  Even though they look similar, the tools work differently.  Yes, it will be frustrating at first, but so was Illustrator.  Take a look at the video below for help with the first set of steps.

Graphics 2 - Continue work on your NON-PROFIT WPA POSTERS.  Remember, that 4 colors is the MAXIMUM.  The poster MUST include a logo, tagline, and a bold graphic.

Multimedia 1 - Your 30 SECOND COMMERCIAL. concept is DUE via TURNITIN by the end of the hour.  You can open the template and simply replace my answers with yours.  KEEP IT SIMPLE!  You will be filming these commercials yourself, so don't go over the top.  I simple, well-conceived, CALL TO ACTION can make a great commercial with no bells or whistles.
