Graphics 1 - WORKDAY:  Aesop's Fable.  Everything must have 3 tones whether you use the MAGIC MARBLE method or GRADIENTS.  No black outlines.  PHOTO references only.  Do not copy other artwork.

Graphics 2 - WORKDAY:  TYPE SPREADS.

Multimedia 1 - Your PHOTO ASSIGNMENT pictures are TODAY.  NO EXCUSES.  Load your photos onto the computer via memory card, cable, or email.  Choose 5 to use for the 5 CORRECTIONS :  INVERT, THRESHOLD, ISOLATE, B&W, BEST CORRECTION, DYNAMIC.

Day 22 - TUESDAY 10.9.2012

Graphics 1 - Work on your AESOP's FABLES.  Choose one story to create an illustration for a children's book.  You should sketch out 3 concepts to present to the class.

Graphics 2 - Work on your TYPE SPREADS.

Multimedia 1 - Your PHOTO ASSIGNMENT pictures are DUE WEDNESDAY.  You must take a separate photo for each subject and remember what makes a good photo.  We will go over the 5 CORRECTIONS :  INVERT, THRESHOLD, ISOLATE, B&W, BEST CORRECTION, DYNAMIC.

Day 21 - MONDAY 10.8.2012

Graphics 1 - Research AESOP FABLES.  Choose one story to create an illustration for a children's book.  You should sketch out 3 concepts to present to the class.

Graphics 2 - I would like to see where you are with your TYPE SPREADS.  At this point you should have your paper in GRIDLINES and be working on your GRAPHIC.  We will discuss ORPHANS & WIDOWS.

Multimedia 1 - Today, I will give you the PHOTO ASSIGNMENT HANDOUT.  You must take a separate photo for each subject and remember what makes a good photo.  We will go over the 5 CORRECTIONS you will be making on your photos.

Day 20 - THURSDAY 10.4.2012

Graphics 1 - WORKDAY:  Your HIPPO TUTORIAL and your PERSONAL LOGO are due on your BLOG today.  If you are finished, research AESOP FABLES.  Choose one story to create an illustration for a children's book.  You should sketch out 3 concepts to present to the class.

Graphics 2 - WORKDAY:  DEFINE: Orphan & Widow (in design terms).  Work on your TYPE SPREADS.  Use the rules we discussed yesterday to set up your layout.  You should have a couple grids already to work with.  Your type placements should be figured out first.

Multimedia 1 - Your group members must all be recorded by the end of class TODAY.  Every group member gets 20 seconds, and must have 5 photos relating to your story.  SHARE> EXPORT TO DISK.  Then submit the file to my DROPBOX.  Name the file after your group members.

Day 19 - WEDNESDAY 10.3.2012

Graphics 1 - Finish working on the HIPPO using this TUTORIAL.  Use your own colors and replace the text with some of your own.  This is practice for the upcoming project.

Graphics 1 - I would like to take a look at each one of your PERSONAL LOGOS.  They are DUE THURSDAY.  If you are done, create the HIPPO using this TUTORIAL.  Use your own colors and replace the text with some of your own.

Graphics 2 - We will discuss the Typography Best Practices.  Your TYPE PAPER is due to TURNITIN TODAY. 

Multimedia 1 - We are moving on to GARAGEBAND.  I want you to go through BASIC EDITING.  Once we are done, you will work on your next NEWS CONCEPT.  The news concept is due to TURNITIN as GARAGEBAND NEWSCAST.

Day 17 - MONDAY 10.1.2012

Graphics 1 - Today, we will work on finishing up the LANDSCAPE PROJECT.  If you are done, work on finishing your PERSONAL LOGO.

Graphics 2 - DEFINE: GRID, GUTTER, & MARGIN.  We will go over GRIDS today.  Use the graph paper provided to create some layouts.  Here are some LAYOUTS to get you thinking.  Your TYPE PAPER is due to TURNITIN by TUESDAY. 

Multimedia 1 - Today is the last in-class day to work on YOUR PHOTO SEARCH COLLAGE.  Use all 40 PHOTOS.  Remember to incorporate RULE of THIRDS and the other elements we discussed.  Here's some INSPIRATION.
