Graphics 1 - HUTs of DOOM QUIZ on TODAY!  Be prepared to do any of the 9 methods.  Work on the LANDSCAPE PROJECT while I give individual quizzes.

Graphics 2 - Your CARICATUREs are DUE on your blog TODAY.  If you are finished, research a FONT to write a paper on for your next project.  Here are some LAYOUTS to get you thinking.

Multimedia 1 - YOUR PHOTO SEARCH COLLAGE should be made in PHOTOSHOP.  The document should be 5" x 5" @ 300 dpi resolution.  Use all 40 PHOTOS to create a collage.  Remember to incorporate RULE of THIRDS and the other elements we discussed.  Here's some INSPIRATION.

Day 15 - Wednesday 9.26.2012

Graphics 1 - HUTs of DOOM QUIZ on THURSDAY.  Be prepared to do any of the 9 methods.  We will be starting on the LANDSCAPE PROJECT.  You will be learning to use Gradients.

Graphics 2 - Your CARICATUREs are DUE on your blog by THURSDAY.

Day 14 - Tuesday 9.25.2012 EXPLORE TEST

Freshman will be out for the EXPLORE test this morning.  Please be sure to check the blog for what you have missed.

Graphics 1 - We will finish going over each step of the HUTs of DOOM.  You need to be confident on all 9 steps as you will be quizzed on THURSDAY at random.  There are some that are straight forward and some that require practice.  Try to do each one at least 3 times to lock them in.

Graphics 2 - WORK DAY:  Continue work on your CARICATURE.

Multimedia 1 - Post your COLLAGE PROJECT on your Blog.  FILE> SAVE FOR WEB> PNG-24.  YOUR PHOTO SEARCH COLLAGE should be made in PHOTOSHOP.  The document should be 5" x 5" @ 300 dpi resolution.  Use all 40 PHOTOS to create a collage.  Remember to incorporate RULE of THIRDS and the other elements we discussed.

Day 13 - Monday 9.24.2012

Graphics 1 - Use the time at the start of the class to finish the PEN TOOL EXERCISE.  I will go over each step of the HUTs of DOOM.  You need to be confident on all 9 steps as you will be quizzed at random.  There are some that are straight forward ans some that require practice.

Graphics 2 - Continue work on your CARICATURE.  Today, I will demo how to make the MOUTH and the NOSE.  

Multimedia 1 - Continue on the COLLAGE PROJECT in PHOTOSHOP.  Today I will go over LAYERS and BLENDING MODES.  Once you have finished with the collage project, I would like you to create a COLLAGE of your own using the 40 PHOTO SEARCH photos in your MORGUE.

Day 12 - Thursday 9.20.2012

Graphics 1 - Use the time at the start of the class to post your LEAF to your blog.  Then, I would like you to download and open the PEN TOOL EXERCISE.  It is an ILLUSTRAOR file and should be opened with ILLUSTRATOR.  I will work this through with you step by step.

Graphics 2 - Continue work on your CARICATURE.  Today, I will demo how to make an EYEBALL.  

Multimedia 1 - We are going to start editing photos.  Today, we will start the COLLAGE PROJECT in PHOTOSHOP.  For those of you that have taken GRAPHICS classes, this will be a snap.  However, if you haven't I will help you through it.

Day 11 - Wednesday 9.19.2012

Graphics 1 - I will go over how to SAVE FOR WEB so you can post your images to your BLOG.  The 3 BRUSHES you created in ILLUSTRATOR should be posted today.  Then we will take a look at the PEN TOOL (The Most Important Tool). 

Graphics 2 - Today, I will begin the demo of the CARICATURE project.  Use PHOTOBOOTH or iCHAT to take a distorted photo of your face.  A CARICATURE tends to over exaggerate or minimize a defining feature.  We will use this image in ILLUSTRATOR to create your CARICATURE.  Every color you choose must have 3 tones.

Multimedia 1 -  Today, you will choose an image, from the 5 from yesterday, that you think exemplifies all of the 6 principles:  RULE OF THIRDS, SIMPLICITY, FRAMING, TEXTURE, LEADING LINES, & COLOR.  In short, it is the perfect photo.  Make it full screen on your computer and the class will come around to view your image.  You will explain how each of the 6 principles are working in your chosen photo.  Remember, NO GOOGLE GARBAGE!  Professional photography from NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC ONLY!
